Good and balanced nutrition today leads to healthier and stronger bones tomorrow

As a part of my journey into starting a fitness blog, I had a long discussion over dinner with my father, Dr Rajesh Garg, an orthopaedic surgeon at HMS, Garhoud Hospital, Dubai, UAE.
One of questions I asked him was, everybody says eat healthy. What exactly do you actually mean when you tell me eat healthy and as I am already eating regular meals. Is there any change that I should make to my diet while I am gyming?
He permitted to quote him in my blog as:
Teen age is a crucial time for growth and development, and proper nutrition plays a significant role in ensuring teens build strong bones and maintains overall health. Of course, suitable exercises whether it is gyming, sports or yoga is also very important, but remember if we don’t eat well then we don’t exercise well. A fit body is made 90 % in home kitchen.
As an orthopaedic specialist, to start with, I will most importantly emphasize on balanced nutritious diet which should be a combination of minerals, calcium, vitamin-D and proteins, as we understand this is a growing age and these are the building blocks for our strong bones, joints and muscles. Healthy snacks like Greek yogurt, almonds, cheese, mixed nuts, healthy smoothies etc are very rich source for minerals, proteins and vitamins.
